How much negative influence does money have on your marriage? Is money at the centre of conflicts at home? What will you give in exchange for your marriage? Is selfishness or greed impacting your marriage?
I want to share with you four reasons to choose your marriage over your money any day. Here they are.
1. Everything we have was given to us by God.
He made and owns all things, including us. If the wealth we have or status that we have attained in life has been by His grace, we must not let it destroy our homes & marriages. “The earth is the LORD’s, and all its fullness, The world and those who dwell therein.” Psalms 24:1 NKJV
2. The love of money is a root of all evil.
Selfishness and greed cause couples to disrespect each other, turn against each other and eventually destroy their marriage. Many marriages have disintegrated because of strife, competition, fights and lies over finances. The love of money has done so much damage to lives and homes. Paul warned Timothy about this root of evil saying, “For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil, for which some have strayed from the faith in their greediness, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.”
I Timothy 6:10 NKJV
3. Money can’t buy God’s gifts.
God showers us with many awesome gifts that money cannot buy. When was the last time you tried buying love, joy, peace, patience, kindness or goodness? Or when was the last time you were thankful for your life, health, spouse, children and family? You see, God gives us many blessings to enjoy and choosing to live in harmony with our spouses will open up news doors of blessings to you & your family.
4. God’s wisdom will build your marriage better than money ever would.
Wisdom and money are both defences but wisdom will surpass money and go farther than money to build your home.
“For wisdom is a defense as money is a defense, But the excellence of knowledge is that wisdom gives life to those who have it.”

“The wise woman builds her house, But the foolish pulls it down with her hands.”
